It’s improbable, but it works. The gorgeous homewares and clothing store that is Pekho is a dog-friendly zone. As in, they actively encourage dogs to come inside, despite the fact that beautiful, precious and delicate things are what they’re all about. Dogs, apparently, are better behaved than children in these environments.

So Indi and I went shopping.

Shop owner and designer Buffy Murray, a bit of a dog tragic, was quick to whip out her phone to shoot Indi on Instagram for the Dog Photo Wall (that’s it behind the Mac). Most visiting dogs get this treatment, and the growing photo wall is testament to just how many people bring their dogs with them for a second opinion when shopping for a funky new tea pot or some hanging tealight holders orĀ  great beads or a new tunic or something fragrant for the bathroom.

Happily the dog friendliness also extends to Hangdog prints and cards, so they’re in there, too.
